SEO-Search Engine Optimization is the process optimizing websites and published content so that it ranks highly in search engines (macro-SEO) and new media sites (micro-SEO).  Organic SEO focuses on creating original content that matches the search keywords buyers are using to find your products and services.

QR Code Marketing leverages the power of smart phones by allowing people to scan a quick response codes (QR Codes) and transfer visitors directly to a web pages with directions, coupons, or offers.  And while link to a webpage is a the most common thing to embed in a QR code, a QR code can hold any information including being the coupon itself.  It is most useful when combined with traditional advertising like business cards, posters, and print advertising.

WordPress is free web based software that powers over 25 million websites worldwide.  since the software is open-source their are hundreds of developers improving WordPress and there are thousands of themes and plugins making WordPress incredibly powerful and flexible.  To put it in laymen’s terms, WordPress is an operating system akin to Microsoft Windows 7, themes are the control panel that control the look and feel of the your website, and plugins are programs like Word and Powerpoint to give your site new capabilities.  WordPress.org is software you download to your own webhosting company and use it with your own unique domain name as opposed to wordpress.com that is hosted by a third party and you do not control your content.

WordPress Themes control the layout and style of your website. There are free and premium pay for themes. Free themes are almost exclusively designed for personal blogs and have very little flexibility to customize your site apart from the basic structure of the theme. Premium themes take advantage of the latest WordPress updates including page templates, mini-posts, and short codes as well as numerous settings and customizations available in the theme control panel.

Social Media is a broad term that loosely applies to any media platform that integrates commenting and sharing.  Some obvious social media platforms for business include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Foursquare but Youtube  and even Amazon qualify as they are the largest online video and retail directories that allow commenting and social engagement.

Social Media Marketing is simply socializing online with customers and prospects.  Some generally accepted uses of social media marketing include customer service, news updates, and brief communication with customers and prospects.  Social media can generate leads but selling is generally frowned upon.

Twitter is a social media site that enables users to build followings and follow others.  Twitter is SMS based and has a 160 character limit on all Tweets.  Twitter can be used for micro-blogging, text messaging, and news updates.  And since Twitter has a search function and Google indexes Tweets and Twitter Profiles it can be used to find Tweets and People by keywords, hashtags, location, and many more to build a following.  Third party tools like Tweet Adder are particularly useful to find demographic groups of people (location, keyword, profile data) or followers of a specific user and then automatically follow that group that matches your target audience.

Blogging is traditionally posting written content and it remains the best way to permanently improve SEO on a website.  Blogging can include articles, videos, or any other media that is frequently updated.  Successful business blogs are updated regularly and use keywords, tags, descriptions, pinging, and RSS distribution to ensure the widest possible syndication and indexing of the blog content.

Many leading autoresponder companies have email subscriptions form builders that will configure an opt-in forms that can be placed on your website to capture the names and email addresses of your visitors who choose to receive your newsletter, lead generation page, special report, or any other offer you would like to make. Depending on the email list you built, you can create create text or HTML based newsletters and set up email sequences to turn leads into buyers.
